WHO WE ARE

Utah Testing and Engineering is committed to ensuring the quality, validity, and accuracy of all test results and inspections so that the data and reports are reliable and defensible.

 Our reporting provides the client, code agency, and building official a high degree of confidence to determine compliance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and other project requirements.
Our laboratory is accredited by the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO). We are also approved by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) in soils, aggregate, and concrete.

Utah Testing and Engineering has multiple special inspectors certified by the International Code Council (ICC) or the American Welding Society (AWS) that are also licensed by the Utah Division of Professional and Occupational Licensing (DOPL) as building inspectors. Special inspectors are also certified as American Concrete Institute (ACI) Level 1 Concrete Technicians and are nuclear gauge certified. We also have a number of engineering technicians certified as ACI Level 1 Concrete Technicians and nuclear gauge certified. Our laboratory technicians have either National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC) certifications or are approved through our internal quality assurance program.

Utah Testing and Engineering also performs ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing of structural steel welding in-house in accordance with the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) procedures.

Operations Manager

Ryan has over 30 years of experience in the construction materials testing and inspection industry. As Operations Manager, Ryan ensures that all special inspectors and engineering technicians perform the required services with quality, validity and accuracy.
